Ciutat Vella y Tokio.

Soy de Japón y naci en Tokio. Voy a escribir acerca de la diferencia entre Barcelona y Tokio.Lo siento pero voy a escribir en Inglés.

Walking around Ciutat Vella reminded me about the old part of Tokyo. Even Barcelona and Tokyo is a completely different city, it was interesting to be able to find some similar points.

The most similar point was the narrow calles. In Tokyo, there are so many narrow streets like the ones we could find in the Ciutat Vella(especially in Barri Gòtic). Even Tokyo is always recognized as a mordern building city,we still have som
e parts that are not organizad. For example, one of the center of Tokyo, we have a
lot of mordern buildings. This area(Roppongi) used to be a very ol
d residence area. But to change the image of the area they started to develop by building some luxury buildings, even it is very old and have there own history. So in this area there are still many narrow streets below the modern buildings.

But in my opinion, the difference is, in Barcelona, streets are more recognized as an important element. Because every single calle has a name. In Japan, we have names only for Avenues. Also we do not have “placa” in Japan. And the narrow streets in Tokyo are normaly formed by the low-rise buildings.

I think the communications between person to person has always started from sharing a street. And having narrow streets must have helped keeping their community tight. These days,, Tokyo has forgotten these points. And for my point of view, Barcelona has also changed by being one of the biggest tourism city.

Today, I ‘ve only picked up as focusing to the element ”street”,but Ciutat Vella is very interesting area for me. Because you can easily find the clues or a sign of the history from the walls, details, name of calles, placas and so on. The "time" is protected in this space. It is a very “visualized historical area” . Which I think we do not have so many places in Tokyo.
